“The officers of the Territorial Commands and the National Transit Unit who were daily involved in road patrols supervised 26,988 drivers in this period, having registered, within the scope of this operation, 7,153 notices of administrative offenses on Portuguese roads”, says the GNR in a statement.
The GNR indicates that most of the offenses (2,151) were due to speeding.
The GNR also recorded 496 offenses for driving under the influence of alcohol, 255 for missing or incorrect use of seat belts, 224 for improper use of the cell phone and 100 related to tachographs.
The Authorities and Police are responsible for keeping the roads and highways safe. Idiots shouldn't be driving a car. A vehicle could be dangerous in the wrong hands. The GNR are doing an excellent job, keeping roads and highways SAFE.
