The bill is to proactively remove content involving animal torture, child sexual abuse, death threats and revenge pornography, with all those being classified as priority offences. Firms that fail to comply face fines of up to 10% of their annual revenue.

An amendment to the Online Safety Bill in the UK, currently moving through Parliament, would see social media companies forced to put into place systems to make web surfing safer.
