We will be over 500 enthusiastic carollers on the cliff tops above Carvoeiro. Join us on 19 December at 6 pm at the Amphitheatre behind the Carvoeiro Chapel “Nossa Senhora de Encarnação”.

Many of us remember the joy of singing Christmas carols, some at school, some in choirs, some door-to-door with snowflakes falling, and some around the Christmas tree. This night is for us to keep the magic going.

CAROLS ON THE CLIFFS is a FREE outdoor community singing event for all. We stress that this is not a concert or a performance. The Stars will be YOU who show up and sing with us. Sustenance will be at hand with mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and stollen. This is a family-friendly multi-cultural Fundraiser for the Portimão Girls’ home CNSC and the Lagoa Foodbank.


We will sing carols in English, French, Dutch, German and Portuguese - and many of them will have multi-lingual verses. Carol sheet is supplied. We are very fortunate to have acclaimed European Diva Carmen Danen co-presenting and leading the Dutch singing and many other stars of the recent Sister Act production.

The support of The Algarveans Theatre group is the backbone of our event: notably Angela Theobold and Alex Melo (vocals), Anne Stevens (keyboard) and many others offering refreshments. The inimitable Tim Stevens will be back to make the Twelve Days of Christmas an experience you will never forget.

Please dress warmly as the wind can be quite strong on the night! Santa Hat is optional! The event is wheelchair-friendly and there is reserved disabled parking in front of the church - come early!
