According to the Union of Workers in Concierge, Surveillance, Cleaning, Domestic and Miscellaneous Services (Stad), “this strike is expected to create constraints in the placement of structures at boarding doors, separation tapes, screens and other security structures and support for passengers”.

Speaking to Lusa, Vivalda Silva, from Stad, said that at stake are 35 workers who feel harmed by the change in conditions that took place, starting in July, when the Spanish company Eulen replaced the company SAMSIC in providing general services at Lisbon airport.

In a statement, Stad said that this strike is due “to the demand for the restoration of rights lost when the company responsible for the service that these workers provide was changed, namely, reestablishment of working hours in force until June of this year, payment of the subsidy transportation previously received and the return of unjustly revoked premiums and respect for workers”.

Stad highlighted that “the recent changes profoundly affect workers’ motivation and productivity, making it essential that Eulen begins negotiations to restore the conditions that its workers previously enjoyed,” it explained.
