According to the National Maritime Authority, the body of the victim, of Thai nationality, was removed from the water by personnel from the Lifeguard Station and transported to the port of Barca.
According to the note, the alert was given at 18:53 by another fisherman who at the location and who reported that “a man had fallen from a cliff”.
The elements of the Sines Lifeguard Station and the local Command of the Maritime Police of Sines were “immediately activated on site. Elements of the Red Cross of Colos and the Volunteer Firefighters of Odemira were also moved to the site,” the statement added.
After being rescued, the body was transported by elements of the Red Cross of Colos to the Legal Medicine Office of the hospital in Beja.
