It is now possible to take FlixBus to the country's three international airports - after Porto and Faro, Lisbon airport becomes part of the FlixBus domestic and international network in Portugal, becoming connected not only to national airports but also to Madrid-Barajas International Airport. From now on, it is possible to travel by FlixBus from Porto, the Algarve, or even the Beira Interior region directly to Lisbon airport, according to a statement from the company.
The first FlixBus lines to and from Lisbon airport are already operating, and aim to reduce the use of private vehicles on trips to the airport. “These new lines are the result of our strategy of strengthening direct connections to national airports, in order to facilitate connecting trips for everyone travelling by air. We believe that, with good shared mobility solutions, people going to airports can leave their car at home and opt for public transport” – says Pablo Pastega, general director of FlixBus for Portugal and Spain.
But it's not just the Portuguese who benefit from the new connections to Lisbon airport. From now on, it is possible to go directly from the capital's airport to Badajoz, Mérida or Cáceres. “We want to facilitate the travel process for all those who need to travel to any of these airports, or for all those who, upon arriving in Portugal, need to take connecting flights from an airport other than the airport of arrival”.
