Today, 833 people are hospitalised with Covid-19, of which 116 are in intensive care units, where five more people were admitted in the last 24 hours.
Most of the new cases were diagnosed in the North zone (964), followed by Lisbon and Tagus valley (921 cases) and the Center zone (629).
Of the 11 deaths, five occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, one in the North region, two in the Centere region, two in the Algarve and one in the Alentejo.
By age, one of the people who died with Covid-19 was between 50 and 59 years old, one between 60 and 69, four between 70 and 79 years old and five were over 80 years old.
The greatest number of deaths continues to be concentrated among the elderly over 80 years old (12,016), followed by the age groups between 70 and 79 years old (3,960) and between 60 and 69 years old (1,682).
Of the new cases, 330 were diagnosed in children under 10 years old, 293 in young people between 10 and 19 years old, 386 in people between 20 and 29, 417 between 30 and 39 years old, 476 between 40 and 49 years old, 411 between 50 and 59 years old, 294 between 60 and 69 years old, 222 between 70 and 79 years old and 78 in people over 80 years old.
Since the beginning of the pandemic crisis, the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region has registered 440,358 cases and 7,830 deaths.
In the Northern region, there have been 431,700 infections and 5,645 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The Central region now has a cumulative total of 159,574 infections and 3,251 deaths.
The Algarve has notified over 166 cases, accumulating 48,531 infections and 508 deaths, and there are another 103 new cases in the Alentejo, which adds up to 42,361 infections and 1,062 deaths since March 2020.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira recorded, in the last 24 hours, according to the DGS, 102 new cases, totalling 14,639 infections and 96 deaths, and the Azores 22 new cases, totalling 10,086 infections and 49 deaths.
The regional authorities of the Azores and Madeira publish their data daily, which may not coincide with the information published in the DGS bulletin.
Among the 18,441 people who have died with Covid-19 in Portugal since the start of the pandemic, 9,659 were men and 8,782 women.
