The day after beating the Swiss (6-1), Portugal has a
training session scheduled for 12:00 local time (09:00 in Lisbon), at the
training centre of Al-Shahaniya, with the first 15 minutes open to journalists.
Similar to what has happened in the post-game days, the
starters in the match against the Swiss should limit themselves to doing
recovery work in the gym, with the exception of Nuno Mendes and Danilo Pereira,
who are treating their respective injuries.
It is expected that the coach Fernando Santos will have 13
athletes in training, that is the eight that did not start against Switzerland
and the five that came off the bench, which includes captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Tuesday (6 December), Portugal secured qualification for
the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, beating Switzerland 6-1, with three
goals from Gonçalo Ramos, one from Pepe, one from Raphaël Guerreiro, and another
from Rafael Leão, while Akanji scored for the Swiss.
In the quarter-finals the team will face Morocco, who
eliminated Spain, in a game scheduled for Saturday, starting at 6pm local time
(3pm in Lisbon), at the Al-Thumama Stadium, in Doha.
