“After a few days with an increase in daytime temperatures in mainland Portugal, a decrease in the maximum temperature values is expected from today, with the minimum temperature continuing at relatively low values, even taking into account the time of year”, says the organisation, in a statement.
According to the IPMA, maximum temperatures should vary between 8 and 13 °C in the interior North and Center, and between 12 and 18 °C in the rest of the mainland.
In turn, the minimum temperatures will be between -4 and 10 °C, “being lower in the interior North and Center and with a tendency to a small rise in the second half of the week”.
The IPMA also indicates that these meteorological conditions are due “to the continuation of the influence of an anticyclonic region, which will be located in Western Europe and cause an eastward flow over the Iberian Peninsula”.
"The influence of a depression between Tuesday and Thursday on the mainland is also expected, with a probability of 40 to 60% of showers occurring during this period, with thepossibility of snowfall in the interior North and Center".
