On Wednesdays at 9pm the “Out of Series” concerts will be broadcast, on Sundays at 11am the educational service shows, on Sundays the “Concertos da Casa” and on the last Saturday of the month at 4pm , an organ recital, broadcast live. On Wednesday, a show by choreographer Rui Horta is broadcast, with pianist Rolf Hind playing “Sonatas and Interludes”, by John Cage, and dancer Silvia Bertoncelli also on stage. On the 7th, the Porto Symphony Orchestra concert, directed by Joseph Swensen, is shown, with a program composed of two works by Mozart: the Masonic Funeral and Symphony No. 35 in D major.
Three days later, Casa da Música revisits the concert of the Symphonic Orchestra that gives its name to the 20th anniversary of this musical group, which took place on October 2nd of last year. Directed by then principal conductor Baldur Brönnimann, with Digitopia, the performance consisted of the world premiere of the concert for orchestra by Daniel Moreira, in an order from Casa da Música. On 14 March, the performance of the Porto Symphony Orchestra is transmitted under the direction of Vassily Sinaisky, with Rafael Kyrychenko at the piano to interpret the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 23 in A major by Mozart. On the 17th, Casa da Música broadcasts on-line the concert “A trip through the solar system”, held on January 31, 2009, which joined the then National Orchestra of Porto with the Choir of Letters of the University of Porto to interpret “Os Planetas ”, by Gustav Holst, under the direction of maestro Martin André.
The Remix Ensemble shows the concert, from 11 January, 2020, in which he played “Les Oiseaux Exotiques”, by Messiaen, with Peter Rundel directing and Pierre-Laurent Aimard at the piano. On the 24th, the concerts of the Porto Symphony Orchestra return, with the Concert for tympani and orchestra by Mauricio Kagel, directed by Sylvain Cambreling. The organ concert on the 27th will be broadcast live with Jonathan Ayerst. A day later, Casa da Música recovers the concert of the Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra with Gileno Santana in the trumpet of tribute to the work of Miles Davis and Gil Evans.
“In the days before each broadcast, informative and promotional materials are available - interviews with conductors, composers and soloists, room sheets, program notes, etc. - that allow us to get to know the programming proposals better ”, recalls Casa da Música. The broadcasts can be seen on the Casa da Música blog, where they are available for 24 hours, and on the institution's Facebook and YouTube accounts.
