On Sunday (29 August), until 6pm almost 29,000 people were vaccinated, including about 21,000 teenagers between 12 and 17 years old.
On Saturday (28 August), until 6:30 pm, more than 76,000 people had been vaccinated, of which more than 60,000 were young people between 12 and 17 years old.
The coordination of the national vaccination operation against Covid-19 announced on Friday that from this day on, people could be vaccinated at any vaccination centre in mainland Portugal as long as they obtain a digital password for the "Open House" programme (without self-scheduling appointment).
It is also now possible to choose the vaccination centre to take the second dose of the vaccine, but this option has to be made on the day the first dose is received.
According to the most recent vaccination report by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), Portugal has 72 percent of the resident population with a complete vaccination course and 80 percent with at least one dose of the vaccine.
