According to the fourth report on the vaccination process in mainland Portugal released by DGS, 293,245 people - three percent of the population - had received both doses since the vaccination started on 27 December, 26,059 of which in the last week. The same report also advances that 739,662 people have already been vaccinated with the first dose, 133,974 more than in the previous week, which represents 8 percent of the population. According to the DGS, 47 percent of the elderly aged 80 or more have already received the first dose (310,409 people), while 10 percent of this age group already have the complete vaccination (68,562). The second most vaccinated age group is people between 50 and 64 years old, with 180,932 first doses already administered and 70,000 people already with the two doses of vaccine received. Until Sunday, Portugal had received a total of 1,186,389 vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with 1,078,103 doses distributed across the country's vaccination points.

By regions, the North leads in the number of vaccines administered, with a total of 341,873 people already vaccinated, 53,493 of whom in the last week, followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, where 333,654 people have already received the vaccine, of which 54,935 in the last days, a period that corresponds to the ninth week of vaccination in the country.

In the Centre region, 239,360 vaccines have already been administered, 33,553 more than in the previous week, and in Alentejo 78,112 people have already been vaccinated, with nearly 13,000 receiving the first dose in the last days. In the Algarve region, 38,419 vaccines against covid-19, 4,975, have already been administered in the last week.
