“Due to the strike, the Porto metro service will be severely restricted on 3 and 7 December”, reveals Metro do Porto in a note published on its website.
According to the company, the blue, red, green, violet and orange lines will not work on these dates, and "there will be very limited circulation on the yellow line and on the common trunk between Senhora da Hora and Estádio do Dragão stations" due to the strike convened by the Syndicate of Engineers (SMAQ),
“Transport capacity will be drastically limited, without it even being possible to speak of minimal services”.
On the two days, Metro do Porto offers an “alternative bus” transport service on the red and green line segments.
“Between 06:00 and 01:00, buses will be available for customers holding the Andante ticket between Póvoa de Varzim and Senhora da Hora (red line), with stops at Póvoa, Vila do Conde and Senhora da Hora stations. Likewise, in the segment between Fórum Maia and ISMAI, there is a shuttle bus service, with stops at those two stations”.
Metro do Porto also states that on Tuesday, the day when a Champions League football match takes place at Estádio do Dragão, that metro station will not have, “for security reasons, any service and will remain closed”.
“Metro do Porto recommends using the STCP network and other road operators to access the stadium”, they add.
