In the middle of a normal summer, when all other surrounding beaches are tightly packed, you can always rely on Meia Praia to have space left for a more relaxed beach day. Especially in times like these, this is a big plus.
Along the four kilometre long stretch of golden sand you can find different restaurants and bars, and parking is plentiful and close by. No long walks carrying sandwiches, water and umbrellas are required to enjoy a day by the sea here.
The beach is also a popular water sports destination and equipment for jet skiing, kite surfing and windsurfing can be rented here.
Meia Praia (half beach in English) is considered to be one half of the stretch of sand that starts in Lagos and reaches all the way to Alvor and is divided by the Ribeira de Odiáxere.
