Speaking to Lusa News Agency, the District Command of Relief Operations (CDOS) of Setúbal said that the alert for the fire in a warehouse located in Monte Sobral do Meio-Dia, in Alvalade, was given to firefighters at 7:13 am on 3 August.
According to a source of firefighters, the fire, which completely consumed the building, with about 30 square meters, where “agricultural oil” was stored, was considered to have been under control by 10:24 am.
The firefighters "will remain on site to contain any outbreak and removing" the material that was "inside" the warehouse, said the source.
There were 18 firefighters combating the flames from Alvalade, Cercal do Alentejo and Grândola, supported by eight vehicles.
