The professional class of "representatives of the legislative power and executive bodies, directors, directors, and executive managers" obtained the highest average net salary increase in 2022 (9.6%), according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

Taking into account the average inflation of 7.8% in 2022, the professional class (the richest in salary terms, with an average net monthly income of 1,759 euros per month, in 2022) was also the only one that managed to overcome the clash of inflation and gain purchasing power last year, according to the Dinheiro Vivo portal.
