Of those arrested, 172 were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, 112 for driving without a legal license and 46 for drug trafficking. There are also 33 people arrested for theft and robbery, seven for domestic violence and six for illegal possession of weapons and prohibited weapon.
In a statement, the GNR clarifies that, between Saturday, the 18th, and Friday, the 24th, it seized 1,052 doses of hashish, 836 doses of heroin, 493 doses of cocaine, 29 cannabis plants and 16 vehicles.
With regard to the 8,800 infractions detected, 2,806 were for speeding, 603 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 413 related to anomalies in lighting and signalling systems and 244 due to lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or or child restraint system.
