"We are very sorry to announce that the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 2021 tour, through Europe and the United Kingdom, will not be able to take place due to the situation experienced with covid-19", shared the promoter Everything Is New.
Nick Cave's concert with The Bad Seeds in Portugal was initially scheduled for April 2020, but with the first restrictions imposed to combat the pandemic, on 19 March, it was announced the postponement of the tour for 24 May 2021.
Tickets that had already been purchased for the initial concert, at the Altice Arena, remained valid for the new date, but will now have to be returned against refund on the respective website or place of purchase.
"The complexity of the tour we planned, combined with the continuing uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, means that, despite the hard work of everyone involved, we cannot guarantee that the shows can happen," adds the note.
In addition to Lisbon, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds should have performed in cities including Toulouse, Madrid, Barcelona, ??Amsterdam, Antwerp, London, Copenhagen, Vienna, Budapest, among many others, before ending their tour in the Israeli capital of Tel Aviv.
Nick Cave's most recent performances in Portugal were with The Bad Seeds, at Primavera Sound festival, in Porto, in 2013 and in 2018.
