In a statement released on 22 April, the PJ indicated that the case occurred on Tuesday morning (20 April), inside the suspect's home, following "an argument for frivolous reasons" between the alleged aggressor and the victim, her neighbour.
According to the PJ, the victim was "violently attacked with a blunt object", which "caused serious injuries to her skull", and she was "in mortal danger", in a Lisbon hospital unit, to which she was transferred.
The PJ said that the detainee has already been presented to the first judicial interrogation and that she is awaiting the unfolding of the process in preventive detention.
This aggression, for which an alert was given at 10:15am on Tuesday, occurred in the village of Perolivas, in the municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz, according to a source from the District Command of Rescue Operations (CDOS) of Évora.
A source from the GNR's Évora Territorial Command told Lusa that the incident involved "mutual aggression" between two women, one of whom suffered "serious head injuries".
Contacted on Tuesday by Lusa, the second commander of the Reguengos de Monsaraz Fire Brigade, Ciríaco Falé, said the woman who suffered serious injuries, 48 years old, had been hit by the other with a crowbar.
A source from the National Medical Emergency Institute (INEM), contacted by Lusa, revealed that the woman had suffered a "serious cranioencephalic trauma" and that she had been initially transported to the Espírito Santo Hospital in Évora (HESE).
According to the same source, the victim was "stabilised" in this hospital unit and later transferred in an INEM helicopter to São José Hospital in Lisbon.
According to the Judicial Police, the arrest of the woman suspected of committing a crime of qualified homicide in attempted form was made by elements of the Local Criminal Investigation Unit of Évora of the PJ.
