According to the DGS statement, this new case was detected in the northern region of the country, and the man has no indication of being vaccinated against the disease.

“The case was laboratory confirmed by the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA). This new case of measles has no known epidemiological link with the previous cases”.

The evolution of this case is being monitored by the DGS and other health authorities, within the scope of the National Measles Elimination Program, which is mainly based on confirming suspected cases and tracing associated contacts.
