The study released by “Air Journal” reveals that Marrakesh,
in Morocco, was the preferred destination of the French in 2022 for the second
consecutive year, mainly due to its price. Last year, the cost of a round trip
plane trip fell by 35% compared to 2019, reveals the “Air Journal”.
Portugal also attracted French tourists in 2022. The
capital, Lisbon, occupied second place, followed by Porto in third position.
Istanbul was the fourth choice, after Barcelona, which was in fifth place among
the main destinations of the year that has just ended.
This ranking also includes those known as Overseas
Territories, with Saint-Denis, the main city of Réunion Island, in sixth
position with an average return trip of 861 euros, while Guadeloupe represented
by Pointe-à-Pitre is seventh. The French also took their holidays in their own
country and, in this case, Nice is in eighth place.
To close this ranking is North America. Montreal is ranked
9th. The round trip costs an average of 544 euros. “Air Journal” finally
highlights the fall of New York, which gave its tenth place to Fort-de-France,
Martinique, whose average round trip price increased by 15% between 2020 and
2021.
