Tuesday, February 14 – Let’s Walk the Pinheiro Valley

A moderately easy walk (just over 2 hours) in the foothills with some climbs but there are fantastic views down to the coast. This walk will allow you to discover an area that you would never see on your own. It is well off the beaten track.

10.00 am start – meet at the cafe Retiro dos Pescadores (37.2137329, -8.3951066). Drive into Silves over the bridge and go right at the next roundabout take the 1st exit and drive for 5.5km, when after an old factory on the right you will see a sign for ‘Pedreira’ to the left. Turn and drive for 500m at the fork, go left and the cafe is just there on the left. Chris 913 011 537

Friday, February 17 - Let's Walk from Amendoeira

An easy/moderate walk of just over 2.5 hours through parts of the Merces river valley, with some good views and great countryside.

at 10.00 am start - meet at the cafe Mateus (37.174644, -7.964531) in the centre of the village. Drive to Loulé and take the ring road around the town and then the exit for Querença / Barranco Velho (EN396). After about 4.5km turn right for Amendoeira and follow the road into the village, the cafe is almost in the centre on the left but is quite hidden! Chris 913 011 537
