In the vaccination bulletin released today, the regional secretariat for Health and Civil Protection states that between December 31 and August 15, 340,605 vaccines were applied against Covid-19 in Madeira.
The vaccination of young people has been ensured at the 11 vaccination centres and “to date, more than 8,000 vaccines have been administered to young people between 12 and 17 years old in the Autonomous Region of Madeira”.
In the information disclosed, it is stated that of the total number of vaccines administered, 189,763 correspond to the first dose and 167,012 to the complete vaccination.
“This means that 66% of the resident population has already completed vaccination and 75% started vaccination”, says the executive.
Vaccinated people are part of the priority groups defined in the Regional Vaccination Plan against covid-19 in the region, according to the allocation of vaccines to Madeira.
It also indicates that in the last week 16,063 inoculations were carried out, of which 6,737 were first doses and 10,948 to complete the vaccination process.
The Regional Government says that this week the process of vaccinating teenagers will continue.
“Right now, 34% of the population residing in the municipality of Ribeira Brava and 42% in the municipality of Ponta do Sol, in this age group (12 and 17 years old), has already started their vaccination against covid-19”.
The latest data released on Monday by the Regional Health Directorate (DRS) indicate that 34 new cases of Covid-19 were reported and 36 more patients recovered in Madeira, with 313 active situations and seven hospitalised people having been reported.
