According to Publituris, this is the second time that the
Portuguese capital has hosted the main UEFA meeting, after having already been
the destination on June 8, 1956.
At the time of the appointment of Lisbon to host this
meeting, the Prime Minister, António Costa, said, in May 2022, that Portugal
“will continue to be one of the best countries, tourist destinations in the
world and the fourth safest country in the world, continuing on the path of
victories not only on the pitch, but also in the organisation of major events”.
Carlos Moedas, Mayor of Lisbon, also mentioned, in May 2022,
that “it is with great pride and satisfaction that I see Lisbon being chosen as
the stage for this great challenge”.
