According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), in July the average air temperature value of 21.54°C, was 0.63°C lower than normal, with the fifth lowest value since 2000 (the lowest was recorded in 2018, at 21 .15°C).
The average minimum temperature value of 14.59ºC, was the third lowest since 2000 (the lowest was in 2009, 14.38ºC). The mean value of the maximum temperature of 28.49 °C was lower than normal.
The hottest day was 10 July, in Alcácer do Sal, in the district of Setúbal, with a maximum temperature of 42.9ºC, while the coldest day was 13 July, in Penhas Douradas, in the district of Guarda, at 5.1ºC.
As for rain, the climate bulletin for July states that the average amount of precipitation of 3.7 millimetres, was lower than the normal value between 1971 and 2000.
The wettest day was 25 July, in Montalegre, in the district of Vila Real, with 13.1 millimetres of precipitation.
