According to the PJ, the man, who was arrested on 30 August, used a direct flame, and his actions put "the physical integrity and lives of people, houses and the large forest area at risk".
"He set fires in the forest, bordering an urban area, which resulted in the burning of around one hectare, which would have had more serious consequences had there not been a rapid intervention by the authorities," says the PJ, in a statement.
The detention of the suspect was made through the Directorate of the Centre, with the collaboration of the Working Group of the Centre and South for the Reduction of Fires in Rural Areas.
