This beach is ideal for breaking away from the crowds of the southern Algarve. Located along the end of a secluded road, just outside of Aljezur, you’ll find a winding river that connects the town to the ocean.
At high tide when the river is full, you can take an inflatable and enjoy natures very own river rapids or rent a paddle board to challenge yourself a little. It weaves along a cliffside and flows out to the Atlantic where you can find excellent conditions for surf. In the summer, it is sometimes referred to as ‘A-Frame Amo’s’, as it boasts clean, slow and peeling waves. Amoreira has one small restaurant which overlooks the beach, so you can refuel and get back to exploring this wonderful place. It is truly breathtaking.
