"In the construction sector, and after an estimated increase in production of 3.4% in 2022, forecasts point to growth in activity, anticipating a real increase in the sector's gross production value in 2023 of between 2.4% and 4.4%, a range corresponding to a midpoint of 3.4%", advances the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries (AICCOPN) in the 'Construction Conjuncture -- Quick Information'.
"In this way it is expected that in 2023, in line with the forecasts of the European Commission for the evolution of investment in construction, the construction sector will continue to make an important contribution to the evolution of the national economy, with production total, in real terms, at the midpoint of the forecast range, growing 3.4% and standing, in value, at 21,782.5 million euros".
According to AICCOPN's conjuncture information, last year, "despite all the constraints that affected economic activity, there was again a high resilience of construction companies, with most sectoral indicators registering a positive evolution".
The highlight goes to "the 9% growth in assured employment in the third quarter of 2022, to the highest level of the last 10 years", and to "the 0.8% and 1.1% increase in investment in construction and GVA [Gross Added Value], respectively, in the first nine months of 2022, all in year-on-year terms".
