Comedian Amy Poehler, Microsoft President Brad Smith, European Commissioner Margrethe Vestager and footballer Gerard Pique will join more than 1,000 speakers, around 1,250 startups, 1,500 journalists and more than 700 investors, at a summit where topics such as technology and society, among others, will be discussed, according to the organisation. "We couldn't be more excited to go back in person. Seeing people and connecting again in person, safely, and reliving the magic of face-to-face interactions will be amazing," Cosgrave said in a statement. "Live events are coming back all over the world," he added.

Among the various speakers is Tom Taylor, responsible for Alexa from Amazon, the Spanish football player and world champion Iker Casillas, Portuguese Daniela Braga, founder of DefinedCrowd, who was invited to join the 'task-force' of Joe Biden’s Administration for artificial intelligence strategy, Ofcom CEO Melanie Dawes, among others. The Prime Minister, António Costa, and the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, are part of the list of the first 150 speakers released by the Web Summit.
