The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever the weather situation represents a risk for certain activities.
The IPMA predicts for today, in northern and central regions of the continent, periods of cloudy skies, becoming fine on the central coast from the morning with light and dispersed showers more likely in the interior and snow above 1,000 meters of altitude.
The forecast also points to a light to moderate wind from the northern quadrant, becoming moderate to strong along the western coastal strip in the morning, with gusts up to 60 kilometers per hour (km/h).
In the highlands, the wind will be moderate to strong from the northern quadrant with gusts up to 65 km/h.
For the southern region, the IPMA forecasts generally cloudy skies, with sunny spells from the afternoon and light and dispersed showers likely until mid-afternoon.
The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 0 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 8 (in Aveiro and Lisbon) and the maximum between 6 (in Guarda) and 18 degrees (in Faro).
