In ten of the region’s 16 councils it will almost resemble business as usual, while in Faro, Albufeira, Portimão, Lagoa, Lagos and Vila do Bispo, stores will have to shut at 10pm. Bars and restaurants will be closed at 10.30pm. A curfew will also be in place in these cities from 11pm to 5am for the coming two weeks. Over the coming two long weekends, lasting four days, only necessary and authorized travel will be permitted between councils.

I live in Liverpool. I am 71 years young. This time last year I was in The Acores. New Year's in Ponta was fantastic. I spent many months in Portugal. Oporto, Barcelos, Obidos and many other places. I miss Portugal and the Portuguese so much. This nonsense will not last forever! I can't wait to get back...
