“This is a campaign to create hope, to tell the Portuguese people that it is worthwhile to go back to tourism in the Centre of Portugal”, said the president of Turismo Centro de Portugal, Pedro Machado, during the press conference to present the campaign “Viagens in Our Land - Discover the Center of Portugal ”.
The official defined an “ambitious” and “very optimistic” aim for this campaign, aiming to reach at least 10,000 nights spent in hotels in the region, and said that he hopes that the positive effects will start to be felt as soon as the next few weeks. Pedro Machado recalled that, in 2020, Centro de Portugal was “one of the favourite destinations of the Portuguese” to spend their holidays, having registered in some periods of July and August a positive growth, compared to the same period of 2019.
The president of Turismo Centro de Portugal hopes that the Portuguese will choose the region again this year to spend their holidays, but he also wants to attract Spanish tourism. “We want to be the first to tell our Spanish friends that we are here, that we are available, that we are ready to receive them”.
The campaign, carried out in partnership with the Continente card and two travel agencies, currently has the membership of around 80 three and four star hotels and accommodation in rural areas, but the registration period is still ongoing. In addition to the promotional prices, which range from 89 to 109 euros, per person, for a period of two nights with breakfast, the campaign offers a 20 percent discount on Continente Card when purchasing each accommodation package. Reservations can be made between 7 April and 30 June, to be used from 7 April to 30 October, excluding the period from 1 August to 15 September, 2021. If the hotel has availability, stays can be extended up to a maximum of six nights per customer.
First we live a long period with travel restrictions.
And here comes a campaign to travel.
It would be better to stay in the middel for some time:

or
Aviod travel as much as possible.
But not forbidden and no polices looking for fines.
