"Due to the strike in Groundforce's services, 53 departures and 40 arrivals have been cancelled, until now, at Lisbon airport", said an official source, adding that the companies operating with other assistance companies, as well as those operating at Terminal 2 at Lisbon airport “keep their operation”.
So far, at the airports of Porto, Faro, Funchal and Porto Santo, the strike didn’t have a great impact.
ANA asks passengers with a flight scheduled for today and Sunday to find out about the status of their flight before going to the airport.
Today is the first day of the strike called by the Union of Airport Management Technicians (STHA), in protest of the "unsustainable situation, with regard to the timely payment of wages and other pecuniary components”.
In a note the union mentioned that the strike that covers SPdH (Groundforce) workers in Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal and Porto Santo will take place over the weekend and from 00:00 on 31 July to 00:00 on 2 August, 2021.
As an employer you don't want to pay folk's a living wage or pay them at all...However you want to maintain an professional image and show the rest of the World, you're ready to do business by going on social media and putting out touchy Feely video's...Bye Bye now...

Show some respect and pay your staff at least a living wage. As for TAP and the newly appointed CEO treat your loyal passengers with respect and deal with what I can only guess is a massive backlog of refunds from last year which must equate to many millions of euros due customer's due to Covid 19 and cancelled flights. Following many emails which are no longer responded to, I am still owed about 1,000 euros..and an apology

Claro que a TAP nunca reembolsou os bilhetes dos passageiros, nem sequer respondeu ao e-mail, com o call center desactivado. Essa abordagem é incorreta e indigna de fingir ser um parceiro confiável.
Of course TAP has never refunded passenger tickets, nor even replied to the email, with a deactivated call center. This approach is incorrect and unworthy of pretending to remain a reliable partner.
Bien entendu, TAP n'a jamais remboursé les billets des passagers, ni même répondu à l'e-mail, avec un centre d'appels désactivé. Cette approche est incorrecte et indigne de prétendre rester un partenaire fiable.

On the assumption that Christine Ourmieres-Widener who has been appointed chief executive of TAP...does not know what is going on in her organisation, does anyone have her work email address as maybe she could take personal responsibility for so many disgruntled and out of pocket loyal customers. What a great way to lead from the front and win back Trust and Confidence in TAP. Editors note try theceo@flytap.com
