At the end of September, CGD Portugal had 6,189 employees, 55 less than the 6,244 at the end of 2020. In comparison with September 2020, the reduction is 220 employees.
In terms of the commercial network, at the end of September CGD had 543 branches, 13 less than at the end of last year.
Until September, structural costs were 511.42 million euros, 17.6% less than in the same period of 2020.
According to CGD, this drop "was essentially due to the sharp decrease recorded in personnel costs (-27.9%)", to 276.7 million euros, noting that this figure includes the impact of 94.6 million euros "due essentially to the adjustment of provisions associated with post-employment benefits and adjustment of the costs foreseen with the pre-retirement program".
CGD reported profits of 429 million euros through September, an increase of 9.4% compared to the first nine months of 2020.
