"The employer has the duty to refrain from contacting the worker during the rest period, except in situations of force majeure", defines the PS proposal on the right to rest.
The proposal, which still has to be confirmed by the Committee on Labour and Social Security and then voted on in plenary, was approved with votes in favour of the Socialists, votes against by the PSD and the abstention of the BE and PCP.
How about the EMPLOYER rights? So, if the employer cannot even send emails off hours, or WhatsApp messages or anything after work hours, THEN the employer must have the right to have everything working perfectly, delivered on time, with no complaints, and no extra costs. The employer shall have the right to demand that employees work full time when they do, without unnecessary timeouts, certainly not for smoking.
The employer shall also demand that they do not look at social media or text for personal reasons during work hours, not even to arrange to meet with friends after work as this will be comnsuming time paid for work. During work hours, the employer shall have the right to demand full attention, no personal calls allowed. Every minute wasted shall be compensated with extra time at no extra cost to the employer.
...Under equal rights - ...there should be some reciprocity, how wrong is this? A blocking mechanism for social media and texting for personal reasons should become possible and available...

Why do large employers allow this? It is absolutely astonishing the way people in the years since the cel and social media have become completely addicted and are "stealing time" from employers in the US and I imagine many other countries.
Employers need to be heavier handed, write-ups to include FINES (take theirs as they're wasting yours and repeaters get terminated, simple like that! "Tough Love" works in many situations although not love, same principle because people have lost their integrity and respect for the people that work hard. This is a culture that needs to be eliminated and some strict rules need to be "enforced" to set an example. They spend every minute looking at or texting on the phone and no one looks up; it's a disease and so many people at jobs are giving misinformation or not paying attention AND, THEY DONT CARE about anything but themselves!

Alexandre is losing his marbles over having full power over his employees ????
Time wasted during work hours is common sense because it's not humanly possible to sustain 8h of continuous focus on any task. For that matter 8h work day is an old outdated and retrograde way of thinking.
If you need to rely on destroying your employees rest time and work/life balance to run your company you're simply making obvious that you either understaff (shame on you) or suck at managing your company/project's resources (shame on you) so that they achieve their goals. Or you simply don't have realistic goals.
I work as an employee and I co-manage. If there are fires to be put outside work hours, you either have the competence to put it out yourself, or have someone on payroll with the job description of 'firefighter' with very fitting compensation
I'd be ashamed to have to reach out to an employee outside either their job description or work hours.
And you should be ashamed of your whiny straw picking ass.
It's 2021 and your work ethics and respect are stuck in 1921.
