According to a statement from the DGS, over the weekend, and until 18:00 on Sunday, around 88,800 children were vaccinated against Covid-19.
Also according to the same source, in addition to the children who were scheduled for this weekend - around 77 thousand -, on Saturday afternoon children aged between nine and 11 were given the opportunity to be vaccinated without an appointment at vaccination centres throughout the country.
The vaccination of children will continue, according to the planned schedule.
Children aged nine to 11 who were not vaccinated this weekend will have the opportunity to schedule vaccination for the next few days.
The Government estimates that the second doses of Pfizer's paediatric vaccine will be administered between February 5th and March 13th of next year.
Until then, it is planned that, between January 6th and 9th, children aged between seven and nine years old will be vaccinated, with the 15th and 16th being reserved for the administration of the first dose to the group of six and seven years old, while the 22nd and 23 of the same month will be vaccinating those aged five.
