Even though almost the entire population is vaccinated, there are still doubts concerning vaccination certificates that confuse those who live in Portugal.
The countries of the European Union have adopted a way to facilitate circulation within the country and even across borders. Vaccinated, those who have recovered and people with a negative test for Covid-19 have the possibility of receiving a digital certificate that proves their preventive actions against Covid-19.
Vaccine certificate
Regarding the vaccination certificate, it is a certificate with 180 days of validity from its issuance. A vaccinated citizen receives it 14 days after the inoculation of the antiviral. The certificate can be acquired on the SNS24 mobile app or the official online portal found at www.sns24.gov.pt. The renewal of the certificate can be done on the same sites, however, on the SNS24 website, it is advised to request the new certificate before the old one expires.
In Portugal, only certificates relating to people vaccinated with antivirals authorised on the European market are considered valid: Janssen, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Pfizer. Vaccination rules vary between countries, so it is advisable to check the legislation in each country, when taking a trip for example.
A completely vaccinated person is someone who has taken a single dose of a vaccine that implies it, or two doses of a vaccine whose vaccine schedule proposes it. An exception is made for people who have previously been infected with Covid-19, who are given only one dose of a vaccine with a two-dose vaccine schedule.
Boosters
Currently, a certain proportion of the population is receiving the third dose as a booster. In this case, the certificate must be updated 14 days after the administration of the third dose. Until then, the certificate mentioning that two doses were administered, or one, according to the vaccination schedule, remains valid. Those vaccinated with the third dose must request their certificate on the SNS 24 app or the official website. If there is any constraint, people should contact the SNS 24, by telephone number 808 24 24 24 and choose option 5.
In case the person has not been vaccinated but intends to take the first dose, it is still possible. Although the Open House regime is only available to people over 75 years old for the third dose or flu vaccine, through the SNS24 portal, a digital ticket can be requested, scheduling a vaccine inoculation in a vaccination centre. The ticket must be asked for on the day the person intends to be vaccinated.
You forgot to mention the fact that vaccine certificates do not stop the spread of the virus as vaccinated can become infected and transmit the virus. It's simply a virtue signaling exercise at best and at worst is a step towards social credit scores. This article reads like a sponsored post.

More terrifying is for around 200 euros people are buying fake vaccine passports from eastern europe.
So putting your life in the hands of others that may actually be using fake passports would be insane in my opinion.
Do not rely on trusting others for your own health and safety.

Oliver is 100% correct. Not only is this logic and common sense but is also proven by countries who already have the passport in place and have had higher infection rates than those who haven’t. I am not signing up to this and if it means that I cannot enter establishments to socialise then so be it. I will entertain my friends at home and save money in the process.

Fantastic! The very obedient people with all the injections can not catch covid now. They also can't transmit covid. They surely can not get hospitalised with covid. They definitely can not die with/from covid.
Oh.....wait a minute.....
What are the injections for again? (scratching head)
And why are they called a name, that is not-at-all what they're supposed to do?
Soon to come: 4th (cause 1st, 2nd and 3rd worked so well) and then infinity. 'Boosters' forever on the injection-merry-go-round.

My wife has not yet received her booster shot. At the first visit to the vaccination center she was refused the shot (very politely) as the system had on record that she has tested positive many months ago. I was concerned so I called the number in the article, and despite a warning that the call center was overloaded with calls, my call was answered first ring. I explained the problem, my wife's records were looked at, I was told that she was now valid for the booster shot and I could just 'walk in' at the vaccination center or book an appointment. I chose the later. Everything worked so smoothly and efficiently. Congratulations SNS24. Faultless service.

Negative, misleading the public "opinions" are being posted here and if you have not done your research with medical journals and "verified" news and not "unregulated" Facebook the cesspool of lies that's brainwashed millions, then you should consider your influence on people that might think you know what you're talking about. I don't know why you think you have done more research and clinical trials than scientists and doctors around the world? Vaccines DO work but you need to get them when due. They disseminate to 40% protection after 5 months (proven first in Israel and agreed around the world by scientists. It was an experiment the first 2 shots and we learned it wasn't enough, booster needed to get to 92% protection. Omicron is different than Delta and ONLY the booster can keep you from hospitalization or death. Portugal has been thriving on tourism since 2016 and you need to present a healthy population to attract vacationers. So get over it!; get with it and get RID of Covid with a booster and if we need it #4. The government is trying to save your ignorant anti-vac lives; besides, if we die, who will pay the taxes and continue the government, they won't have jobs?

An informative article on vaccine certificate updates, for the 98% of eligible Portuguese that have already been vaccinated. Has anyone requested an update to their vaccine certificate after their booster? If so where on the app do you request it (after 14 days) and does the updated certificate show the date of the booster dose?

We got our updated, new Covid Certificates, through the SNS Internet portal, using our SNS numbers, and then printed them off. These do show the date of our booster injections.
