In a statement, the Ministry of health clarifies that this possibility falls within the scope of additional measures adopted by the Government to contain the pandemic.
Proof of PCR test with 72 hours notice and proof of rapid antigen test (TRAg) with 48 hours notice are also accepted.
"The three types of tests mentioned will therefore be admitted, under the terms of the decisions taken for the period of containment of contacts, in access to tourist establishments or local accommodation and events of any nature (except for religious celebrations)".
These three types of tests will also be accepted on the 24th, 25th, 30th and 31st of December and 1st of January for access to restaurants and gambling establishments or authorised New Year celebrations.
The office of the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, clarifies that "these alternatives aim to diversify the options available to the population at an exceptional time" for tests.
Restaurants need us more than we need them. If you go along with this nonsense, hopefully no customers for you. Your obedience is prolonging this nightmare!

Too Late! We are currently camping in motorhome in Portugal and yesterday decided to travel to Spain rather than face tests everytime we wish to access a campground. Last minute rule changes are completely ruinous for traveller's plans.

I shall not be going anywhere that requires me to show papers / do tests. If that means I can’t go anywhere then so be it. I shall have friends around to my house and save money!
