"In the 3rd quarter of 2021, the financing capacity of families decreased by 0.5 percentage points (pp) to 4.9% of GDP, and the savings rate stood at 11.3% (11.7 % in the previous quarter), reflecting the 1.2% growth in private consumption, above the increase in disposable income", indicates the National Institute of Statistics (INE) in the Quarterly National Accounts by Institutional Sector.
According to the institute, the household savings rate thus decreased by 0.4 p.p. compared to the previous quarter.
