“On this International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, the President of the Republic underlines the importance of fighting, as a community, for a Portugal with zero tolerance in relation to any form of discrimination, under any pretext”.
According to Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, “discrimination against many LGBTI people persists”, whether in the private sphere or in the public space, at school, at work, in health.
“In a time so prone to so many forms of hatred, it is imperative that we join together for this purpose, in concrete policies to combat discrimination, but also in our daily gestures, in the way we relate and live together, for an open society which is inclusive and without prejudice”, he said.
The President of the Republic asks that this international day serves to remember what brings people together and to remember “fraternal coexistence in difference”.
The Prime Minister, António Costa, today hoisted the rainbow flag at the official residence in São Bento and made a commitment to develop public policies against discrimination.
Does that also include the non vaccinated?

Very well and fine to not discriminate against this group, but why did the government discriminate against the unvaccinated group of people last year till around April 2022? Discrimination is discrimination.... not so?

Unvaccinated people affect public health, take up expensive hospital resources when they are sick and they have made a choice which has consequences. LGBTQ people can't be compared to this, and don't affect or infect anyone.
