The greater demand is said to have forced a reinforcement of stocks in pharmacies and supermarkets.

According to Jornal de Notícias, hypermarkets sell up to 20,000 tests a day. It is a reflection of the increase in infections in recent weeks coupled with the constraints on the SNS24 phoneline.

On average, Portuguese buy between three and five tests at a time [and] some establishments admit supply "constraints".
