According to data released by the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP), in April there were 11,816 fewer registered unemployed than in the previous month and 109,453 fewer than in April 2021.
Comparing with April 2019, pre-pandemic, the number of unemployed decreased by 2.1 percent (-6,805 people).
According to the IEFP, “for the decrease in registered unemployment, compared to the same month of 2021, in the absolute variation, the groups of individuals looking for a new job (-105,526), those aged equal to or above to 25 years (-92,718) and those who have been enrolled for less than one year (-86,051).
