Entry to museums, monuments and palaces under the tutelage of the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC) is free on Sundays and holidays but now only until 2:00 pm, for citizens residing in Portugal.

The change in the entry fees comes into play as of today (July 3).

Until now, admission to these spaces was free throughout the day on Sundays and holidays, for citizens residing in the national territory.

The measure applies to the 25 museums, monuments and palaces directly managed by the DGPC, including five monuments inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Among the cultural facilities covered by the change are the monasteries of Jerónimos (Lisbon), Batalha and Alcobaça, the Convent of Christ (Tomar), the Soares dos Reis National Museum (Porto), the Monographic Museum of Conímbriga (Coimbra) and the National Museum of Ancient Art (Lisbon).
