According to the executive director of the company, Carlos
Coelho: “There are about 90 thousand [solar] panels and we are talking about an
approximate value of 30 million euros”, he said.
The work, which is under construction in the parish of São
João da Boavista, in Tábua, in the district of Coimbra, will be completed in
the last quarter of the year.
The solar panel plant is installed in an area of
approximately 90 hectares, with an installed power of 48 megawatts.
“We can estimate that it will provide clean energy, green
energy, to more than 20,000 homes”, he underlined.
Greenvolt is a company linked to renewable energies, with
assets in several European countries, will produce the energy in Tábua and then
will “inject it into the [national electricity] grid” to be sold “at market
price”.
“It is a work that will contribute to the decarbonisation of
the country”, stressed the executive director of Greenvolt.
Greenvolt operates in the biomass sector, promoting wind and
solar photovoltaic projects and distributing renewable energy generation.
