These symptoms include "abdominal pain, difficulties
and pain when breathing, muscle pain, loss of taste or smell, tingling, throat
discomfort, hot or cold flashes, heaviness in the arms or legs, as well as
general fatigue," the study lists.
“In 12.7% of patients, three to five months after infection,
these symptoms can be attributed to Covid-19”, conclude the study authors.
The work, carried out in the Netherlands, is, due to its
scale and methodology, an important piece of research to better understand the
risk of “long Covid”, that is, the persistence of lasting symptoms after
infection by the coronavirus.
