According to Lusa, the value for the minimum wage proposed for next year will be €10 above what was previously planned to ensure, according to the Government, an additional differential to compensate for the impacts of inflation.

The objective of reaching €900 by the end of the legislature remains.

"The value of the guaranteed minimum monthly remuneration will reach the value of at least €900 in 2026, safeguarding the purchasing power of workers and ensuring the growth trajectory started in 2016", reads the proposal for the medium-term agreement for improving incomes, wages and competitiveness.

The Government proposes that the minimum wage increases to 760 euros in 2023, to 810 euros in 2024, to 855 euros in 2025 and to 900 euros in 2026.
