The District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) of
Faro detained, on Monday, a 48-year-old man suspected of committing crimes of
drug trafficking, driving without a legal license and for having a false
identity.
According to Notícias ao Minuto, the arrest took place in
Lagos, during a road inspection action.
The individual in question was identified by the fact that
he was suspected of not being legally qualified to practice driving and of
being illegally in national territory.
When approached by the police, the driver fled - which gave rise
to a pursuit that was reinforced by elements of the Lagos Criminal Investigation
Brigade.
After the suspect's interception in the city centre, 1,000
doses of heroin, 135 doses of cocaine, 250 euros, a vehicle and two cell phones
were seized.
The detainee already had a criminal record and was
prohibited from entering the Schengen area - where, allegedly, he managed to
enter with false documentation.
