According to a statement from the National Republican Guard
(GNR), in the operation, in which road patrols were intensified, due to the All
Saints bank holiday period, 26,693 drivers were inspected and 5,902 offences
were detected.
Of the total of infractions, 1,385 were due to speeding, 598
for driving with a blood alcohol level (BAC) higher than allowed, 242 for
failure or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or child restraint system and 165
for using a mobile phone while driving.
