According to Correio da Manhã, it is in the municipality of Lisbon that the most people are waiting for housing, with 9,700 applicants (families/individuals) registered and on the waiting list. Sintra, Cascais and Oeiras follow on the list, with 3,000, 2,794 and 2,700 subscribers, respectively. Also in Loures and Setúbal there are many people waiting for a house: more than a thousand in both cases.
The publication writes that the housing shortage will be partly solved by the 85 applications, worth 300 million euros, to housing programs supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), from the different municipalities. The problem is that most of these projects have yet to get off the ground, and in January only 40 applications were approved.
Well lets see if the Portuguese government will report how many empty houses they have and they will be done up to relocate all this people that need a house to live.
