“The forecast for the Easter weekend will be generally clear in many places. With the information available [so far], everything points to dry weather, without rain”, said Ângela Lourenço, meteorologist at the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to Ângela Lourenço, the maximum temperature will “rise throughout this week”, without “major changes” over the weekend.

“This maximum temperature is above the average for the time of year, with many places in the interior of Alentejo and the Tagus Valley, which may reach values close to 30 degrees centigrade”, she explained, adding that, regarding the minimum temperature, “the rise is not very significant”.

In a statement, the IPMA indicated that the maximum temperatures "should vary approximately between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius in most of the territory, being slightly lower in the coastal strip".

With regard to minimum temperatures, they should vary approximately between seven and 10 degrees, with the exception of the coastal strip south of Cabo Carvoeiro, where they will be slightly higher, and the northeast of Trás-os-Montes.

Despite the rise in temperatures, the meteorologist pointed out that people will “notice that the nights are still cold, that is, it will not be what is normally experienced in summer time”, with nocturnal cooling, noting, according to the meteorologist, “a big difference between the day temperature and the night temperature”.
